Do you have insecurities about your body?
Want to get rid of Them? Today we’re getting naked physically & emotionally. And yes I want you to get naked too. Many people can’t do this. They can’t sit naked even when alone. They’re so self-conscious about their body they can’t enjoy nudity.
A recent study found that over 90% of the people don’t like their bodies. Chances are high that you’re one of them your sex life isn’t what it could be.
If you have insecurities about your body you cannot open up to feel pleasure
Sit naked in front of the mirror and answer this question: “Do you love what you see?” Be honest with yourself. If the answer is no then you need to deal with it pronto. It is impossible to be intimate with another person if you can’t be intimate with yourself.
Your partner may work their behinds off trying to pleasure you but if you are in your mind, thinking about your imperfections, you cannot surrender. When you cannot surrender you won’t experience intimacy or an orgasm.
Let me give you an example from my own life. As a young girl I was bullied a lot because I was overweight. Funny thing is the more I was teased for being overweight the more I felt the need to eat for comfort. Finally I got to the point that I didn’t want to live anymore.
One day some guys from school came up to me. They stood there teasing me and laughing. I felt my tears and pain bubbling up. I ran away in tears. I was only 10 years old. On that day I swore that I would lose my weight and no one would ever have a reason to tease me again. I began to wear baggy sexless clothes. I would not allow anyone to look at me, especially naked.
It might sound weird to you but this incident resulted in a huge body issue. It took away years of potential moments of intimacy. The brain of a child sinks everything experienced – good or bad – directly into the subconscious with no filters. Research has found that most of your character traits and insecurities are the result of experiences from birth till age 10.
3 Ways to Overcome Insecurity about Your Body
Uncover core wounds
These go to the heart of the matter usually. It lives in the depths of your soul. Most people find they originate from childhood.
It’s not usually about how you look as much as it is about how someone made you feel. A poor body image is only the tip of the iceberg. Your core wound will only be found deep in your heart.
In some cases the way a person looks is actually the result of the way people made them feel. This is not about blaming. But feeling insecurities about your body is unacceptable. Healing needs to happen and to that end it is important to identify the circumstances surrounding it
2.Treat Your Body as if It’s Your Most Precious Possession
Let me put this to you the simplest way I know how.
Your body is the most important possession you have.
Without your body, nothing else matters. It was a gift given to you by the universe. It is a tool which allows you to experience life on earth. Some ways to care for your body:
- Diet – I’m only talking about eating what is healthy. Learning to eat healthy is a beautiful way to show your body you care.
- Exercise – A good brisk 30 minute walk a day is just what the doctor ordered. If however, your taste runs to the strenuous path so be it and more power to ya.
- Moisturize – Like the rest of your body don’t forget to take care of your skin. The body is made of mostly water. That includes the skin. So moisturize. With care your skin will stay young looking for a very long time.
- Drink lots of Water – Again give your body the water it needs not only for the outside but also for the inside.
- Honor your Body – Pamper and pleasure yourself without guilt and without regret. This can include ANYTHING, from a day at the spa to masturbating in the backyard garden
- Get naked
I understand this is a difficult thing to do. It is hard not to feel insecurities about your body when totally exposed to the world. I can promise you this though. If you begin to spend time naked; once you get used to it you will find it quite healing.
One good way to begin is to try it alone for maybe 30 minutes. Once you get used to that try increasing it more and more until you find you really enjoy it. You might even get to prefer it to being dressed at all.
Get Rid of the Insecurities about Your Body
Your body really is a temple. It’s your temple, meant to house the essence of you which is your spirit. But the universe loves you and your temple. You were made with beauty and care. It is an insult to the universe to feel insecurities about your body.
Learn to worship the goddess or god you are. Let the love of yourself improve your life and the lives of those you touch.
