Look Beyond Physical
Look beyond physical to fully understand how our bodies communicate with us. Although it is important to pay attention to our bodies on the outside; it is also necessary to look inward to what we cannot see with our eyes. I’m talking about our spiritual nature here.
Sometimes our bodies speak to us in order to communicate its needs. Often when this happens we try to treat the symptom rather than the source. To look beyond physical try asking yourself these questions:
- What is this dysfunction trying to tell me?
- Is this dysfunction the problem or just a symptom?
Some years back I experienced persistent stomach cramps. I thought part of the cause was due to a lack of water in my diet and my eating habits. I was only focusing on the physical possibilities for the pain.
As time went by the pain persisted without relief. I got into research mode. In doing so I came upon Kundalini Yoga. Here I discovered where my stomach cramps were rooted.
I learned there are more than just physical explanations for what I was experiencing. I had a block in one of the energy centers of my body.

Chakras are one of the ways our bodies communicate with us. There are seven main chakras throughout our body. They are vibrating cores of information located up and down the spine. Each of them regulates specific functions in the body.
The solar plexus
It was in the chakra called the solar plexus, which is located in the stomach that my trouble occurred. This chakra distributes life force energy throughout the body, it is our power center.
Its purpose is to help us make and do, expressing will, enthusiasm, and creativity. My solar plexus was weak and I hadn’t even realized it. A weak solar plexus can:
- Cause unusual tiredness and nervousness.
- Register as fear, frustration, and boredom.
- Manifest as stomach and intestinal problems, as well as problems of the liver and kidney.
How to Open and Strengthen Your Chakras
Kundalini yoga is effective because it offers a variety of exercises to help open and strengthen the chakras. Keeping these energy centers unblocked will contribute to better health.
The cause of my stomach pain was rooted from within more than from without. It was when I decided to go beyond the physical and take a deeper look at things that I saw improvement.
Learn About Your Chakras
Energy follows thought. The very act of learning about the energy centers of our bodies will help them begin to come alive. Meditating on these centers actually gives them energy.
Our minds and thoughts are powerful tools which can look beyond physical and have a direct effect on our reality. We need to take time to listen to our bodies. However, we must not neglect the spiritual nature of our humanity.
Learning about and meditating on our chakras is one easy way to bring healing into our lives. I am happy to say that I haven’t suffered that kind of stomach pain since I learned what needed to be done. Knowledge about the chakras brought healing and balance into my whole life. If you look beyond physical I know it can do the same for you.
