A positive environment is not only a place where people who have a positive influence on you are. It also extends to the environment itself. You’ve heard the “term if these walls could talk.” Well the thing is they do!
Over time your place will take on the likeness of you. Unfortunately it can also retain the essence of previous occupants. There are many other factors which enter into how a home looks and feels.
The good news is there are 5 simple things you can do to not only create a positive environment, but also make it a home you love.
- Visualize How you want the space to be
This may sound funny but sit down and try to visualize the general arrangement of furniture and so forth. Take out a piece of paper and sketch it out. A plan is power. It will make your task easier and get the job done quicker.
- Cleanse The space
Before beginning any real work on the place it is important to clean it both physically and spiritually. This is a simple matter, especially if you are moving into an empty space. If the space is physically clean, simply move to the next phase of cleansing it spiritually.
There are many ways to do this. Our personal favorites are using sage sticks and a chant of our own creation and the cleansing by fire, water, earth and air. Both work in the same way but the sage stick method is a little easier.
There are many other methods you can use to spiritually cleanse your space. I highly recommend using one of them, because the most beautiful picture starts with a clean canvas.
- Consider color
Color is definitely a matter of personal preference; however, I recommend consideration of the fact that color affects people. There is no shortage of information on how to use color in an environment to create a result which is desired. It is worth your time to recognize that it also can create results which are not.
Here it is good to look back at your plan. When you made it, what was the feeling you hoped it would provoke in you. A positive environment means different things to different people so what is Positive for you?
- Set up a Positive Environment
So you made your plan. You cleansed the space. You considered your color scheme. Now it’s time to set it up. Remember, although you have a plan you must be flexible. If you get a better idea along the way make changes as you see fit. It is your space after all.
- Bless your space
Here is the part that so often gets overlooked, but it is so vital to creating a positive space. You must give it your blessings. You must speak your intent to live here in peace. You must invite goodness into your home. You must invite abundance also. There are many ways to do this. Over the coming weeks I will talk about inviting abundance into your home.
