Bee pollen is a super food that can help relieve your allergy symptoms. It’s high in protein, vitamins and full of antioxidants.
As bees go from flower to flower they collect pollen to take back to their hives and turn it into granules. Because of their hard work receive the benefits.
Allergies happen when your body creates an immune response to an allergen and makes antibodies. When this happens certain receptors on your cells release histamine.
As a result you end up with those miserable symptoms like a running nose, puffy itchy water eyes, and so on.
The bee pollen works to reduce the histamine levels. It can help with a wide range of respiratory diseases like asthma and sinus infections.
Choose the Best Kind of Bee Pollen
Buy it from a local health food store, that way your building up your immunity to the plant life in your area. Check the labels and make sure it’s free of pesticides, you can also talk with the employees who work there.
I like to go to Wynants Health Food Store, it’s a family owned business in my area. The employees are always friendly and willing to answer any questions I have, and help me find what I need.
How to Use the Granules
Bee pollen can be consumed in the form of capsules, powder, liquid or granules. I personally take it as a capsule because it’s quick and easy.
If you prefer you can use the granules and sprinkle them into a smoothie or in hot cereal or yogurt. The granules are sweet and have a powdery texture.
You can also use it with fruit which activates it quickly and cleans your colon at the same time. The granules have a sweet and have a powdery texture.
Start slowly, start with 1/4 teaspoon a day, for a few days then increase it to ½ teaspoon. After about four weeks work your way up to two or three teaspoons. You can put it in a smoothie or sprinkle it in hot cereal or yogurt.
If you are a person with spring allergies start taking it just before spring sets in, for fall allergies think about starting in the middle of June so your body can build up its immunity.
Are you Sensitive to Pollen Hay Fever
There’s an easy way to test it out. Put a few granules in your mouth, after two minutes if your eyes aren’t watering, and your not sneezing and your nose isn’t runny, go ahead and chew them slowly.
Take twenty-four hours to keep an eye out and see if any symptoms show up. If not go ahead and try the ½ teaspoon in fruit, yogurt, a smoothie or hot cereal.
I take the capsules and store them in the medicine cabinet, you can store the granules in the fridge. Be sure to keep it away from sunlight so it keeps its nutritional value. It should keep for a year with proper storage.
